In a tragic incident last night in Kaski district, nine people, including seven members of a single family, died in landslides. The landslide at Tallakot of Puranchaur in Pokhara Metropolitan City-19 claimed the lives of 47-year-old Kul Bahadur Pariyar, his 85-year-old mother Laxima, his wife Mana Kumari (43), their three daughters Radhika, Prashana, and Prava, and son-in-law Asmit Pariyar. The landslide occurred at 10:30 PM while they were at a family gathering.

Continuous rain has triggered landslides that have disrupted vehicular movement on the Prithvi Highway in Tanahun district, blocking the highway at several locations including Yampa in Bandipur Rural Municipality-5, Ghasikuwa in Vyas Municipality-12, and Mauriodar in Myagde Rural Municipality-6. Efforts are underway to clear the debris with support from the construction company of the Mugling-Pokhara Road Project.
